Overview

One of the highlights of the Bali Pass trek is crossing the Bali Pass itself, which stands at an altitude of approximately 16,207 feet (4,940 meters) above sea level. This challenging ascent offers trekkers an adrenaline-filled experience as they navigate steep inclines, rocky terrain, and potentially icy conditions.

Upon reaching the summit of Bali Pass, trekkers are rewarded with awe-inspiring views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Kalanag. The sense of achievement and the breathtaking scenery make the arduous journey well worth the effort.

After conquering the pass, trekkers descend to the picturesque village of Yamunotri, where they can explore the sacred Yamunotri Temple and relax amidst the serene surroundings. From Yamunotri, the trek concludes with a drive back to Dehradun, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Journey from Dehradun to Sankri
We embark on a scenic drive from Dehradun to Sankri, covering a distance of 190 KM over 8 to 9 hours. As we ascend to an altitude of 6,500 feet, the landscape transforms, offering breathtaking views of the valley. Upon arrival, we settle into a comfortable Guest House in Sidri, nestled amidst serene Deodar trees and Apple orchards, providing a picturesque backdrop of Sankri and the surrounding valley.
Day 2 - Trek from Sankri to Chillurgad
Today's journey begins with a 10 KM drive to Taluka, followed by a 12 KM trek to Chillurgad, lasting approximately 5 hours. For those seeking adventure, an optional ride atop a camper promises a bumpy yet exhilarating experience. Along the way, we pass through the charming village of Gangaad, adding to the scenic beauty of our trek.
Day 3 - Trek from Chillurgad to Roiltia (Waterfall Camp)
Embarking on a 15 KM trek lasting 6 to 7 hours, we make our way from Chillurgad to Roiltia, situated at an altitude ranging from 8,350 feet to 11,020 feet. Despite the long and arduous journey, the trail offers mesmerizing vistas, particularly as we traverse the dense forests. Caution is advised as Black bears are known to inhabit this region.
Day 4 - Trek from Roiltia to Ruinsara Lake
Today's trek covers a distance of 4 KM over 2 to 3 hours, leading us from Roiltia to the enchanting Ruinsara Lake at an altitude of 11,800 feet. We camp near the lake, soaking in the serene ambiance and optional hikes to Kyarkoti offer panoramic views of the Swargarohini peak.
Day 5 - Trek from Ruinsara Lake to Thanga Camp
Embarking on a relatively easier journey, we trek 3 KM over 2 hours from Ruinsara Lake to Thanga Camp, situated at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The campsite, adorned with pink dwarf rhododendron trees, provides a tranquil setting amidst nature's beauty, with a possibility of encountering Brown bears in the vicinity.
Day 6 - Trek from Thanga to Bali Pass Basecamp
Today presents a challenging trek as we cover 8 KM over 6 to 7 hours, ascending to Bali Pass Basecamp at an altitude of 15,160 feet. Traversing through Odari, we navigate the adventurous ridge section, braving crevasses along the way. The campsite offers a unique experience, situated above 4,600 meters.
Day 7 - Summit Bali Pass and Descend to Lower Damini
We begin our ascent to Bali Pass by 4 AM, reaching the summit around sunrise at 6 AM. Descending from an altitude of 15,160 feet to 16,080 feet, we face challenging terrain before reaching Lower Damini, nestled amid towering pine trees. The trek spans 12 KM and lasts 8 to 9 hours, offering an unforgettable experience.
Day 8 - Trek to Yamunotri, Janki Chatti, and Drive to Dehradun
Our final leg of the journey involves a 9 KM trek to Yamunotri, followed by a drive to Janki Chatti. From there, we embark on a scenic 180 KM drive to Dehradun, concluding our adventure-filled expedition. Arriving between 7 to 9 PM, we bid farewell to an unforgettable journey amidst nature's splendor.
Day 9 - Buffer Day for Weather-Related Delays
A buffer day is allocated to account for any weather-related delays, ensuring a smooth and safe journey for all participants
