Dodital, also known as Dhundital, is a serene lake nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. Legend has it that this picturesque spot is the birthplace of Lord Ganesha, the revered elephant-headed deity of new beginnings. Day 1
Dehradun to Uttarkashi
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Uttarkashi, a quaint town known for its spiritual and natural charm. Along the route, you'll pass through beautiful valleys and hills, offering a glimpse of the Himalayan landscape. Upon reaching Uttarkashi, you'll settle in for the night at a local guesthouse.
Day 2
Uttarkashi to Bhebra via Sangam Chatti
The day starts with a short drive to Sangam Chatti, the trek’s starting point. From here, you’ll begin your hike toward the peaceful hamlet of Bhebra. The trek takes you through terraced fields, villages, and mixed forests, allowing you to immerse yourself in the region’s rural and natural beauty. You'll camp overnight in Bhebra, enjoying a warm meal under the stars.
Day 3
Bhebra to Dodital
Today’s journey takes you deeper into the mountains, as you trek from Bhebra to Dodital. The trail passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests, gradually ascending towards the sacred lake. Upon arrival at Dodital, you'll be greeted by the calm waters and a stunning view of the surrounding peaks. You’ll set up camp near the lake, with ample time to explore the area and soak in its spiritual atmosphere.
Day 4
Dodital to Darwa Pass and Back to Dodital
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a trek to the Darwa Pass, the highest point of the journey at around 4,150 meters. The ascent provides awe-inspiring panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas. After reaching the pass, you’ll descend back to Dodital, where you can spend the rest of the day relaxing by the lake and taking in its peaceful beauty
Day 5
Dodital to Bhebra
On Day 5, you’ll retrace your steps and trek back to Bhebra. The downward journey offers a new perspective on the surrounding landscape, with opportunities to spot wildlife and enjoy the fresh mountain air. You'll camp overnight in Bhebra, with a chance to rest and share stories around the campfire.
Day 6
Bhebra to Uttarkashi via Sangam Chatti
Today, you’ll trek back to Sangam Chatti, where the trail began, and then drive to Uttarkashi. You’ll spend the night in a guesthouse, reflecting on your trek’s unforgettable experiences and the tranquil beauty of Dodital.
Day 7
Uttarkashi to Dehradun
After breakfast, you’ll drive back to Dehradun, completing your journey. With cherished memories of Dodital and Lord Ganesha’s sacred lake, you'll leave feeling refreshed and spiritually enriched
